Applicants for the Senior Electrical Engineer (PE) role should have a strong background in electrical system design for federal, port, or infrastructure projects. This includes pre-design engineering, schematic design, power distribution, and the application of CAD/BIM standards. Your role will encompass both the technical and managerial aspects of engineering, from conducting field surveys and preparing site assessments to overseeing construction administration and ensuring compliance with National Electrical Code and local regulations.
Senior Electrical Engineer (PE) - Summary
- Lead electrical design and engineering activities for federal, port, and infrastructure projects.
- Serve as a project manager overseeing multiple large-scale projects and cross-disciplinary teams.
- Mentor and support design engineers throughout project delivery.
- Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to develop and implement effective engineering solutions.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct pre-design engineering, including field surveys and site assessments for electrical systems.
- Prepare electrical schematic designs and develop power single line and riser diagrams.
- Perform detailed electrical calculations such as arc flash, coordination, short circuit, voltage drop, and load flow analysis using industry software (e.g., ETAP, SKM).
- Design low voltage and medium voltage infrastructure in compliance with applicable codes.
- Apply CAD/BIM standards to ensure high-quality design documentation.
- Integrate knowledge of the National Electrical Code, state codes, and energy standards into all designs.
- Coordinate with other disciplines, including mechanical, plumbing, telecom, civil, structural, and architectural teams.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and deliverables, ensuring projects are completed on time and within scope.
- Mentor junior engineers, review project proposals, and support business development efforts.
- Oversee construction administration, including responding to RFIs, reviewing equipment submittals, and conducting punch walks.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical engineering, focused on federal, port, or infrastructure projects.
- Demonstrated ability to lead design projects and manage engineering teams.
- Experience with quality assurance/quality control (QAQC) on complex projects.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Proficient in software such as AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP, SKM, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Effective communication and record-keeping abilities.
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
