Senior Accountant Position Overview
The Senior Accountant position is an integral part of a rapidly growing restaurant brand's financial team. The Senior Accountant is responsible for ensuring that financial systems, processes, and reporting mechanisms are robust, reliable, and support the company’s strategic objectives. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development of sophisticated financial forecasting models to guide the company’s financial strategy and planning.
- Prepare and deliver comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, providing actionable insights to leadership teams.
- Analyze financial data to identify opportunities for cost savings, revenue enhancement, and process improvements that align with company goals.
- Collaborate with senior leadership on budgeting, long-term planning, and the design of key performance indicator (KPI) dashboards for real-time performance monitoring.
- Oversee month-end and year-end close processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Conduct bank and credit card reconciliations, manage accruals, and maintain the integrity of all account balances.
- Serve as an internal expert on Restaurant365 (R365) and integrate additional tools such as Toast, Excel, and Power BI into financial workflows.
- Automate financial workflows and streamline operations to improve efficiency across the finance function.
- Present complex financial information to senior leadership in an accessible and compelling manner.
- Ensure compliance with all GAAP and regulatory standards and lead the preparation for external audits with audit-ready documentation.
- Document policies and procedures, and consistently seek ways to improve and optimize financial processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA preferred.
- At least 5 years of progressive experience in financial planning, analysis, and accounting operations.
- Demonstrated experience in multi-unit restaurant, hospitality, or retail environments.
- Proven ability in dashboard development, KPI tracking, and advanced financial modeling.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience with financial systems, especially Restaurant365 (R365).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to distill complex data into actionable insights.
- Excellent communication skills to translate financial data for cross-functional teams.
- Highly organized with a detail-oriented approach and ability to manage multiple priorities under deadlines.
