Security Architect - Summary
- Lead the development and implementation of secure-by-default patterns and architecture guardrails to minimize vulnerabilities in customer-facing products.
- Design, maintain, and enhance advanced security reference architectures across web, mobile, API, AWS cloud, and AI-enabled platforms.
- Collaborate with diverse technical teams to integrate security best practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Ensure all solutions align with regulatory requirements and industry frameworks such as PCI DSS, GDPR, CCPA, NIST 800-53, SOC2, ISO 27001, and PSD2/SCA.
- Act as a subject matter expert on threat identification, mitigation strategies, and security technology trends.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead security aspects of product delivery, defining and enforcing architecture standards that ensure security is embedded from inception to deployment.
- Continuously review and contribute to the development and adoption of internal security standards, policies, and best practices.
- Design security reference architectures that are secure, scalable, and resilient, supporting a broad range of technologies and deployment models.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product management, and operations, to guarantee security requirements are addressed in every project stage.
- Provide expert guidance on API security, customer identity protocols (such as OAuth 2.1, OpenID Connect, SAML 2.0), and AWS cloud security, including least-privilege IAM, network segmentation, encryption, key management, secrets management, and logging strategies.
- Stay informed on the latest developments in security technology and regulatory compliance to proactively identify and mitigate risks.
- Mentor team members and stakeholders on security best practices and participate in ongoing security education initiatives within the organization.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in an elevated information security role focused on architecture and design.
- At least 7 years of total IT experience, with a concentration in cybersecurity.
- Proven expertise in API security, customer identity protocols (OAuth 2.1, OpenID Connect, SAML 2.0), and AWS cloud security practices.
- Familiarity with industry regulations and frameworks, including PCI DSS, GDPR, CCPA, NIST 800-53, SOC2, ISO 27001, and PSD2/SCA.
- Relevant cybersecurity certifications such as CISSP, AWS Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional), or AWS Security Specialty.
