Security Analyst (GRC, Linux) - Summary
- Administer Linux-based security systems, including IDS sensors and patch management.
- Conduct risk assessments, vulnerability scans, and manage remediation initiatives.
- Support audit processes and maintain detailed security documentation.
- Automate security processes and participate in the deployment of security tools.
- Collaborate with teams to enhance security operations and risk mitigation strategies.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform hands-on administration of Linux security systems, including the management of IDS technologies such as Snort and ensuring systems are up-to-date with the latest patches and kernel upgrades.
- Conduct thorough technical risk assessments and vulnerability scans to identify and address security exposures in accordance with industry best practices.
- Document security controls and system configurations to support both internal and external audit requirements, ensuring compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.
- Automate recurring security and IT operations tasks using scripting languages, with a preference for Python or Ansible, to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
- Oversee deployment and troubleshooting of security tools, particularly those related to RockyLinux and Red Hat operating systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement strategies for operational improvement and risk reduction.
