SEC Reporting Accountant (CPA) | Senior Accountant - Summary
- Responsible for preparing and reviewing SEC filings, including 10-K, 10-Q, and 8-K reports
- Ensures all financial statements and disclosures meet U.S. GAAP and SEC requirements
- Collaborates with internal teams and external auditors for accurate and timely reporting
- Supports ongoing process improvement and technical accounting research
Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and file all required SEC documents, ensuring full accuracy and regulatory compliance
- Draft financial statements, footnotes, Management Discussion & Analysis (MD&A), and related sections for SEC reports
- Coordinate and communicate with external auditors during quarterly and annual reviews to facilitate timely filings
- Monitor, interpret, and implement changes in SEC regulations and U.S. GAAP
- Research and analyze complex technical accounting issues, preparing comprehensive memos as needed
- Enhance and maintain internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR)
- Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements, assisting with audits and documentation
- Collaborate across departments to ensure accuracy and consistency in financial reporting
- Support management and other stakeholders with ad hoc financial analysis and reporting requests
- Identify and recommend improvements to financial reporting efficiency and process enhancements
- Participate in the implementation and optimization of new financial systems and reporting tools

Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) strongly preferred
- Minimum of 4-6 years of professional accounting experience
- At least 2 years of direct experience with SEC reporting, preferably within a public company or a Big 4 public accounting firm
- Advanced knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC regulations, and current financial reporting standards
- Experience with XBRL tagging and SEC filing processes is beneficial
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel; familiarity with financial reporting software such as Workiva or Hyperion is a plus
- Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical accounting information clearly
