School Psychologist (School Psych) - Summary
The School Psychologist (School Psych) supports the academic, social, and emotional development of students in K12 settings. The position involves conducting psychoeducational evaluations, consulting with staff and families, and participating in multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) to ensure all students have access to the resources they need to succeed. The School Psychologist is a key partner in the development and implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and behavioral interventions, ensuring legal compliance and ethical best practices at every step.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational assessments using standardized evaluation tools to identify student strengths and areas of need.
- Prepare detailed, actionable reports and effectively communicate findings in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings.
- Collaborate with Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) teams to assist with intervention planning, data review, and recommendations for Tier 1-3 supports.
- Facilitate Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) and work with teachers and staff to develop and implement effective Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).
- Provide short-term counseling services, crisis triage, and make appropriate referral recommendations to external agencies or supports as needed.
- Engage in consistent communication with families, administrators, teachers, and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate student support services.
- Ensure strict adherence to IDEA timelines, documentation standards, and ethical and legal guidelines related to special education and student support services.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Valid WA ESA School Psychologist certification required.
- Master’s or Specialist degree in School Psychology from an accredited institution.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with educators, families, administrators, and other service providers.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for timely completion of documentation and reporting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey complex information to diverse audiences.
