School Psychologist K-8 - Summary
- Provides comprehensive psychological services for students in kindergarten through eighth grade.
- Collaborates with teachers, administrators, and families to support student learning and mental health.
- Utilizes evidence-based practices to assess, consult, and intervene in academic and behavioral concerns.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Conducts psychological and psychoeducational assessments to identify students' strengths and needs.
- Develops, implements, and monitors individualized education plans (IEPs) as required.
- Provides direct counseling and intervention services to students experiencing academic, emotional, or behavioral challenges.
- Consults with teachers, school staff, and parents/guardians to develop strategies for supporting students in the learning environment.
- Assists in crisis prevention and intervention efforts within the school community.
- Participates in multi-disciplinary teams to address student needs and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Delivers professional development and training for school personnel on topics such as mental health, behavioral interventions, and student support systems.
- Maintains accurate and confidential student records in accordance with legal and ethical guidelines.
- Promotes a safe and inclusive school climate through advocacy and support services.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Master’s degree or higher in School Psychology or a closely related field.
- Valid state certification or license as a School Psychologist, or eligibility to obtain one.
- Experience working with elementary and middle school students is preferred.
- Strong understanding of child development, learning theories, and behavioral interventions.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards.
- Familiarity with special education laws and procedures.
