The role of School Psychologist is an essential position within any K12 educational setting, providing a unique opportunity to create lasting, positive change for students and school communities. We are seeking a dedicated School Psychologist to join our team on a full-time basis, working closely with students, educators, and families in Gig Harbor, WA. This full-time position aligns with the standard school calendar, offering a structured Monday through Friday schedule. As a School Psychologist, you will play a pivotal role in supporting both general and special education students, contributing to individual student growth and system-wide improvements.
As a School Psychologist, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations, utilizing a variety of standardized assessment tools to identify students’ strengths and areas of need. You will prepare clear, actionable reports and effectively communicate your findings during Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, ensuring all stakeholders have a clear understanding of each student’s educational requirements. Your expertise will support Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) teams by assisting in intervention planning, reviewing data, and providing recommendations across all tiers to foster students’ academic and behavioral success.
In this School Psychologist role, you will conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) and collaborate with teaching staff to develop effective Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), ensuring that students receive the targeted support they need. The position also includes providing short-term counseling, crisis intervention, and referral recommendations, functioning as a vital resource for students experiencing academic, social, or emotional challenges. Consistent communication with families, administrators, and multidisciplinary teams is a core component of the job, requiring excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
The School Psychologist must maintain strict compliance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) timelines, documentation standards, and adhere to ethical guidelines and confidentiality requirements.
