The role of a School Psychologist is integral to supporting the academic, social, emotional, and behavioral development of students within an elementary school environment. As a School Psychologist (often abbreviated as School Psych), you will be responsible for collaborating with educators, administrators, and families to create a safe, supportive, and effective learning environment for all students. School Psychologist - Summary
- Provide comprehensive psychological services to elementary school students.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to foster academic, social, and emotional growth.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct psychoeducational evaluations to assess students’ cognitive, academic, and social-emotional functioning.
- Develop and implement evidence-based intervention strategies to address academic, behavioral, and emotional challenges.
- Provide individual and group counseling to students to enhance coping skills and resilience.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to design and implement effective classroom management strategies.
- Participate in the development and monitoring of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and Section 504 plans.
- Serve as a resource for crisis intervention and prevention services within the school community.
- Consult with parents, teachers, and administrators about students’ needs, progress, and recommended supports.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in school psychology.
- Maintain accurate, confidential records and documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Master’s or Specialist degree in School Psychology or related field required.
- Current and valid School Psychologist license or certification as required by state or local regulations.
- Experience working with elementary-aged children in educational settings preferred.
