School Psychologist - Summary
- The School Psychologist is responsible for providing comprehensive psychological services to students, including assessments, counseling, and consultation with educators and families.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and support staff to create safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environments.
- Advocate for the academic, social, and emotional needs of students within the elementary school setting.
- Serve as a key resource for mental health awareness, behavioral support, and individualized education planning.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct psychological and educational assessments to identify students’ strengths, needs, and eligibility for special education services.
- Interpret assessment results for educational teams, families, and students to inform instructional planning and interventions.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans (BIPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
- Provide individual and group counseling to address academic, behavioral, and emotional challenges.
- Consult with teachers, administrators, and families to support student learning and well-being.
- Deliver crisis intervention and support, including risk assessments and recommendations for student safety.
- Facilitate professional development for staff on topics related to mental health, behavioral support, and effective classroom strategies.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records in accordance with ethical and legal standards.
- Participate actively in data-driven problem-solving and decision-making processes to enhance student outcomes.
- Engage in ongoing professional learning to remain current with best practices in school psychology.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Master’s or Specialist degree in School Psychology or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Current and valid state licensure or certification as a School Psychologist (NCSP or equivalent preferred).
- Demonstrated knowledge of child development, learning theory, and evidence-based intervention techniques.
- Experience conducting psychoeducational assessments and developing educational recommendations.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
