The School Psychologist (often referred to as School Psych or SP) plays a pivotal role in fostering a positive and inclusive educational environment by providing comprehensive psychological services to students of all ages and backgrounds. School Psychologist - Summary

Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct psychological assessments to identify students' strengths and areas of need.
- Develop and help implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students receiving special education services.
- Provide individual and group counseling to students experiencing social, emotional, or behavioral challenges.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to develop classroom-based interventions and strategies.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss student progress and recommend appropriate interventions or accommodations.
- Assist in crisis intervention and response, supporting students and staff during emergencies or traumatic events.
- Provide consultation to school personnel and parents regarding learning, behavior, and mental health issues.
- Support school-wide initiatives focused on mental health, wellness, and positive behavior supports.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to student assessment and special education.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records in accordance with ethical and legal guidelines.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Master’s degree or higher in School Psychology, Educational Psychology, or a closely related field.
- Valid state certification or licensure as a School Psychologist (SP).
