School Psychologist - Summary

Duties & Responsibilities
- Administer and coordinate psychological testing for students referred to special education, ensuring accurate documentation and timely reporting
- Interpret assessment results for parents, teachers, and administrators, translating findings into actionable educational and behavioral strategies
- Lead or participate in staff development sessions focused on assessment, child development, confidentiality, and due process in special education
- Review and assist with the application of assessment reports from external agencies in collaboration with school staff and parents
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings as assigned, contributing to the development of appropriate interventions and supports
- Serve as a liaison between the school and other social service, advocacy, or private agencies, facilitating communication and resource sharing
- Offer expert advice to staff on psychological and mental health issues affecting students
- Support the promotion of positive staff morale and the achievement of school system goals

Qualifications & Requirements
- Master's degree in School Psychology
- Valid School Psychologist certificate; must be eligible for or hold a Louisiana state/educator's license
- Proficiency in administering and interpreting a variety of educational and psychological assessment instruments
- Demonstrated ability to build positive, effective relationships with students, families, and educational staff
- Strong oral and written communication skills
