School Nurse RN - Summary

Duties & Responsibilities
- Evaluate, assess, and provide direct nursing care to students for a variety of health needs
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and district policy
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs) for students with specific medical requirements
- Support students with IEP (Individualized Education Program) and 504-related medical needs
- Monitor and manage chronic health conditions, including diabetes, asthma, seizure disorders, and severe allergies
- Conduct mandated health screenings and document results
- Respond to medical emergencies and provide appropriate first aid and crisis intervention
- Maintain up-to-date emergency action plans and ensure adherence to safety protocols
- Coordinate with emergency medical services (EMS) when necessary
- Keep accurate, confidential student health records and track medication logs
- Ensure compliance with New Hampshire Department of Education and Department of Health regulations
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student health issues and care plans
- Collaborate with school administrators, special education teams, and faculty to support student health and learning
- Participate in student support meetings as needed

Qualifications & Requirements
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Hampshire (required)
- Current CPR/BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- Preferred experience in school nursing, pediatrics, or community health

- Ability to work independently across multiple school sites
- Reliable transportation for travel between buildings if required
