Safety Manager – Construction (CHST, CSP Preferred) Summary
- Provide comprehensive support to the Operations department to enforce safety and health policies.
- Implement and monitor safety programs on construction sites.
- Advise project staff and subcontractors on safety requirements and best practices.
- Collaborate with the Corporate Safety Director and participate in assigned safety tasks.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct regular onsite safety inspections, safety orientations, and thorough accident investigations to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Oversee and conduct training sessions for employees on safety policies, procedures, and regulatory compliance, including OSHA standards.
- Verify ongoing compliance with health and safety regulations by maintaining detailed records and preparing reports as per company and regulatory guidelines.
- Coordinate and manage participation in Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) inspections, providing documentation and facilitating discussions with inspectors.
- Serve as a key advisor to the safety administration team regarding projects, operational tasks, and accident investigations.
- Utilize professional experience and sound judgment to plan and accomplish safety-related goals.
- Attend initial meetings with project staff and subcontractor representatives to communicate safety roles and responsibilities within the project program.
- Stay current on new regulations and developments in the field of health and safety, recommending necessary updates to the company's safety program.
- Identify and control hazardous working conditions and unsafe employee practices through regular site visits, detailed safety plans, and the education of supervisory personnel.
- Perform a variety of additional tasks as needed to support the safety program and contribute to a safe work environment.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum of five years of experience in general construction, with a focus on construction or industrial safety.
- Solid understanding of applicable federal, state, local, and company regulations, including OSHA standards.
- Familiarity with standard construction concepts, practices, and procedures.
- BCSP certification (such as CHST or CSP) is preferred.
- Electrical experience is a plus.
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with clients, employees, and management.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, including the ability to present safety information effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), email, and internet navigation.
- Willingness and ability to visit construction sites as required during employment.
