The Safety Manager plays a vital role in promoting and upholding a robust safety culture within commercial construction environments. As a Safety Manager, you will be responsible for leading efforts to ensure all safety protocols, compliance measures, and best practices are consistently implemented across construction projects. Working closely with field leaders, project teams, and corporate leadership, the Safety Manager ensures that every aspect of construction operations adheres to regulatory requirements and company values. Safety Manager - Summary- Lead and champion a proactive, people-first safety culture focused on continuous improvement, trust, and accountability.
- Serve as a visible safety leader in the field, actively building relationships with project teams, superintendents, and site safety professionals.
- Provide guidance, coaching, and accountability to ensure safe planning and execution of construction activities.
- Maintain compliance with all Cal/OSHA, Fed OSHA, and occupational health standards, aligning policies with company core values.
- Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive safety policies and procedures for all construction projects.
- Support the creation and execution of site-specific safety plans, job hazard analyses (JHAs), and pre-task planning initiatives.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits, identifying hazards and raising safety awareness across sites and offices.
- Report on safety audit results, making recommendations for corrective actions and following up on implementation.
- Lead incident investigations using root cause analysis to identify underlying issues and prevent future occurrences.
- Track, analyze, and report incidents, near misses, and key safety metrics to inform continuous improvement efforts.
- Collaborate with leadership to implement lessons learned and drive organizational safety performance.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to safety incidents, inspections, and compliance.
- Facilitate first aid and CPR training as needed, and coordinate emergency response procedures.
- Work closely with Operations, HR, Risk Management, and Project Management to ensure alignment of safety efforts with business goals.
- Stay updated on changes in OSHA and other regulatory standards to guarantee ongoing compliance.
- Perform other safety-related duties as assigned to support organizational success.

- Minimum of 5 years of safety experience in the construction industry
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Construction Management, or related field is preferred
- OSHA 30 required; OSHA 500/510 or equivalent is a plus
- Professional safety certification (CSP, ASP, CHST) preferred
- Certifications in First Aid, CPR, and OSHA 30 are highly desirable
- Strong report writing skills and the ability to conduct root cause analyses
- Excellent communication skills for training and development purposes
- Experience in training staff on safety procedures and compliance requirements
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Demonstrates a mature, professional demeanor and exceptional interpersonal skills
