Safety Manager - Summary
- Lead and champion a proactive, people-first safety culture focused on continuous improvement, trust, and accountability.
- Serve as a visible safety leader in the field, actively building relationships with project teams, superintendents, and site safety professionals.
- Provide guidance, coaching, and accountability to ensure safe planning and execution of construction activities.
- Maintain compliance with all Cal/OSHA, Fed OSHA, and occupational health standards, aligning policies with company core values.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive safety policies and procedures for all construction projects.
- Support the creation and execution of site-specific safety plans, job hazard analyses (JHAs), and pre-task planning initiatives.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits, identifying hazards and raising safety awareness across sites and offices.
- Report on safety audit results, making recommendations for corrective actions and following up on implementation.
- Lead incident investigations using root cause analysis to identify underlying issues and prevent future occurrences.
- Track, analyze, and report incidents, near misses, and key safety metrics to inform continuous improvement efforts.
- Collaborate with leadership to implement lessons learned and drive organizational safety performance.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to safety incidents, inspections, and compliance.
- Facilitate first aid and CPR training as needed, and coordinate emergency response procedures.
- Work closely with Operations, HR, Risk Management, and Project Management to ensure alignment of safety efforts with business goals.
- Stay updated on changes in OSHA and other regulatory standards to guarantee ongoing compliance.
- Perform other safety-related duties as assigned to support organizational success.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of safety experience in the construction industry
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Construction Management, or related field is preferred
- OSHA 30 required; OSHA 500/510 or equivalent is a plus
- Professional safety certification (CSP, ASP, CHST) preferred
- Certifications in First Aid, CPR, and OSHA 30 are highly desirable
- Strong report writing skills and the ability to conduct root cause analyses
- Excellent communication skills for training and development purposes
- Experience in training staff on safety procedures and compliance requirements
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
