Risk Adjustment Coder CPC - Summary

Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct coding trainings and educational sessions to support physicians, mid-levels, and support staff in capturing Hierarchical Condition Categories (HCCs).
- Perform both prospective and retrospective chart reviews and provider assessments to ensure accurate risk adjustment coding.
- Deliver one-on-one and group education sessions to providers and staff, enhancing their understanding of HCC coding requirements.
- Abstract diagnosis codes from clinical notes and provide feedback on documentation improvement.
- Prepare targeted educational materials tailored to the specific needs of various healthcare practices.
- Act as a coding resource, promptly responding to inquiries and offering expert advice to team members.
- Collaborate with leadership to facilitate effective EMR access and utilization across all practices.

Qualifications & Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED is required for this Risk Adjustment Coder CPC position.
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification is mandatory.
- Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in risk adjustment coding is required.
