We are seeking a dedicated Restaurant Manager to join our team at a polished casual steakhouse in Durham, NC. As a Restaurant Manager (Full-time), you will play a key leadership role in supporting restaurant operations, ensuring exceptional guest service, and maintaining a welcoming dining environment. Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional customer service by ensuring each guest has a positive and memorable dining experience. Effectively address customer inquiries, concerns, and feedback with professionalism and promptness.
- Assist the General Manager in overseeing daily restaurant operations, including opening and closing procedures, staff scheduling, and maintaining cleanliness and organization throughout the establishment.
- Support and motivate both front-of-house and back-of-house teams, including hosts, servers, bartenders, and kitchen staff. Foster a positive work culture, encourage teamwork, and provide ongoing training and development opportunities.
- Supervise and coordinate restaurant staff activities to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to quality and service standards. Offer guidance, coaching, and feedback to enhance performance and address any challenges.
- Collaborate with the General Manager to monitor inventory levels, conduct regular inventory counts, and place orders with suppliers as needed. Ensure proper storage and rotation of food and beverage items to maintain freshness and quality.
- Uphold high standards of food quality, presentation, and service. Conduct routine inspections to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, cleanliness, and established operational procedures.
- Support sales initiatives, including upselling menu items and contributing to programs aimed at increasing revenue.
- Assist with cash handling procedures, including reconciling daily sales and preparing deposits. Help monitor and control expenses to achieve financial targets.
- Ensure strict compliance with health and safety regulations, including food handling, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and documentation as required.
Qualifications
- Minimum of three (3) years' experience as a Restaurant Manager in a high-volume, casual dining environment.
- Demonstrated excellence in customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
- Effective leadership qualities with the ability to motivate, inspire, and develop team members.
- Comprehensive knowledge of restaurant operations and service standards.
- Experience with POS systems and restaurant management software.
- Understanding of inventory management and cost control best practices.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and remain flexible to changing demands.
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
