Residential HVAC Technician (HVAC/R Technician) - Summary
As a Residential HVAC Technician (HVAC/R Technician), you will be responsible for the maintenance, diagnosis, repair, and installation of residential HVAC/R equipment. Your technical expertise will support our mission to provide reliable, safe, and efficient heating and cooling solutions to homeowners. You will work both independently and collaboratively, utilizing advanced tools and technologies to deliver top-tier service, while also identifying opportunities for system upgrades and additional service offerings. Duties & Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, service, and repair a wide range of residential HVAC/R equipment, including Mitsubishi heat pumps, hydronic boilers and controls, rooftop and packaged AC units, split systems, and water-source heat pumps.
- Install new HVAC/R systems, connect refrigerant lines, fabricate ductwork, and ensure all installations meet industry standards and safety regulations.
- Perform preventive maintenance to maximize equipment performance and lifespan, including cleaning, calibrating, and inspecting crucial system components.
- Diagnose electrical and mechanical issues involving motors, fans, controls, compressors, coils, and ductwork, and provide effective solutions.
- Handle refrigerants responsibly and in compliance with all environmental regulations and EPA guidelines.
- Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to ensure accurate and effective service delivery.
- Program and configure smart thermostats and system controls, monitor performance, and suggest optimizations for energy efficiency.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked company vehicle to ensure readiness for all service calls.
- Generate detailed service estimates and ensure timely communication with customers.
- Utilize the ServiceTitan platform for accurate field-service documentation, scheduling, and workflow management.
- Participate in ongoing company training initiatives and contribute to business growth by identifying potential upsell and cross-sell opportunities.
Salary & Benefits
- Competitive hourly wage with the potential for annual earnings up to approximately $94,000 before commission.
- Generous commission structure including 20% commission on qualifying upsells and home-maintenance programs, 6% on direct equipment sales, and 2% on referred system-install opportunities.
- Overtime opportunities available for additional earning potential.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in residential HVAC service and repair.
- Current EPA Universal certification is required for refrigerant handling and compliance.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex HVAC/R issues with a customer-focused approach.
- Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude and familiarity with advanced HVAC technologies.
- Valid, clean driving record and the ability to safely operate a company vehicle.
- Physical capability to move and lift up to 50 pounds as needed for installations and repairs.
- Experience with steam systems is highly desirable and considered a significant plus.
