Research Study Participant opportunities are available for adults aged 65 and older. This in-person research session is focused on observing and understanding everyday movements in a comfortable and safe studio environment. The session is conducted by a professional research team and is designed to be an inclusive, accessible, and enjoyable experience for all participants. The event is held at a local studio and is part of an important video project supporting the development of products and services that better meet the needs of older adults.
As a Research Study Participant, you will take part in a 90-minute session where you will be asked to perform simple, low-impact activities such as sitting, standing, and gentle head movements. These actions will be guided by a moderator, recorded on video for research and training purposes, and carried out at your own pace. The setting is a supportive and accessible studio, with staff dedicated to ensuring your comfort and safety throughout the process. All video recordings are used strictly for research and training and will not be shared publicly.
Participants are compensated for their time and effort, making this an excellent opportunity for seniors interested in contributing to valuable research in a relaxed and welcoming environment. Snacks and drinks are provided on-site, and accessibility accommodations are available, including chairs with arms, step stools, grip rails, and the option to use personal mobility aids during the session. If you use a cane, walker, or other assistive devices, you are encouraged to bring them along to ensure your comfort during all activities.
The studio environment is designed to be comfortable and easy to navigate. Closed-toe shoes and clothing that allows for natural movement are recommended. Should any activity feel uncomfortable at any point, you are encouraged to let the moderator know, and the session can be modified or paused as needed to prioritize your well-being. There is no heavy lifting, stretching beyond your comfort, or fast or repetitive motions involved. You may also request breaks at any time during your session.
Before participating as a Research Study Participant, you will check in at the studio, complete a short orientation, and review a simple consent form that fully explains how your video will be used. You may stop the session at any time if you change your mind. Sessions are scheduled in advance and start promptly. The exact studio address and parking information will be provided upon confirmation of your appointment. Please bring a photo ID for building access and plan to arrive 5–10 minutes early to allow for a smooth check-in process.
Compensation of $90 is provided to each Research Study Participant via digital delivery within 24 hours of completing the session. This payment is a thank you for your valuable contribution to the research project. Light refreshments, including coffee, tea, water, and packaged snacks, are available throughout your visit in a comfortable lounge area. The project team is available to answer any questions you may have before your session to ensure you feel fully informed and at ease.
