Release Manager - Summary
As a Release Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the release lifecycle, ensuring that all deployments are executed smoothly and in alignment with organizational objectives. This role requires strong cross-functional communication, exceptional organizational skills, and a focus on optimizing the software delivery pipeline. You will be tasked with monitoring release readiness, escalating risks, and ensuring documentation is up-to-date, all while supporting continuous improvement efforts across teams.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Coordinate and execute software releases and deployments, aiming for a consistent, high-quality customer experience.
- Monitor day-to-day operations of the release pipeline, ensuring readiness and proactively identifying and escalating risks or issues as they arise.
- Collaborate with development, operations, and product management teams to keep release initiatives on track and within scope.
- Drive process and tooling enhancements to improve reliability, repeatability, and speed of software delivery.
- Maintain clear and thorough communication, including the creation and management of runbooks, status updates, and incident response procedures.
- Support troubleshooting efforts in production environments and assist teams in resolving deployment-related challenges.
- Document processes, identify process gaps and risks, and champion continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications & Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience in Release Management, Quality Assurance (QA), Live Operations, or similar roles within PC software or live service environments.
- Familiarity with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, and experience using tools such as Jenkins, Perforce, Git, Datadog, and JIRA.
- Working knowledge of release operations, including build and release coordination, and basic troubleshooting in live production environments.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with proven ability to coordinate activities across multiple teams and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to follow established processes, proactively identify risks, document process gaps, and support ongoing process improvements.
