In this role, the Registered Nurse (RN) will manage referral appointments in compliance with established access-to-care standards, both within the direct care system and through external providers. You will be responsible for reviewing, validating, and authorizing medical and surgical referrals, as well as laboratory, radiology, pharmacy, and other hospital procedures. The RN will work closely with internal multidisciplinary teams, external network providers, and managed care support staff to address patient needs and resolve process-related concerns. Your expertise in verifying patient eligibility, tracking referral outcomes, and ensuring timely documentation will contribute directly to effective patient care coordination and the achievement of optimal health outcomes.
Additionally, the Registered Nurse (RN) in Referral Management will coordinate with specialty clinics for pre-appointment requirements, provide patients with detailed instructions, and ensure all necessary documentation is delivered for referred care visits.
