In this role, the Registered Nurse (RN) will manage referral appointments in compliance with established access-to-care standards, both within the direct care system and through external providers. You will be responsible for reviewing, validating, and authorizing medical and surgical referrals, as well as laboratory, radiology, pharmacy, and other hospital procedures. The RN will work closely with internal multidisciplinary teams, external network providers, and managed care support staff to address patient needs and resolve process-related concerns. Your expertise in verifying patient eligibility, tracking referral outcomes, and ensuring timely documentation will contribute directly to effective patient care coordination and the achievement of optimal health outcomes.

Additionally, the Registered Nurse (RN) in Referral Management will coordinate with specialty clinics for pre-appointment requirements, provide patients with detailed instructions, and ensure all necessary documentation is delivered for referred care visits. You will facilitate smooth communication across the healthcare continuum, participate in team meetings, and provide feedback on utilization and referral processes. The RN will also be responsible for data management, including the entry and tracking of referrals in healthcare databases, and will offer ongoing training to clinical staff on referral protocols and best practices.

This position requires a current, active, and unrestricted nursing license and a solid foundation in professional nursing standards.
