Registered Nurse (RN) - Summary
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in a clinical setting under the guidance of physicians.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Triage patients by telephone or in person to determine urgency and level of care needed.
- Assist Practice Manager in supervising clinical support staff and maintaining workflow efficiency.
- Provide patient education during initial pregnancy visits, postoperative, and postpartum periods, both verbally and in writing.
- Schedule and coordinate appointments, referrals, and ancillary services as needed.
- Respond to patient emergencies within the RN scope of practice.
- Screen, triage, and respond to patient inquiries via telephone, electronic medical record (EMR) messages, or walk-ins.
- Approve same-day visits, assist with specialist referrals, and complete required forms.
- Supervise and support medical assistants, providing training and answering questions as assigned.
- Assist physicians with procedures requiring nursing-level support and administer immunizations and allergy shots.
- Manage prescription medication requests and process laboratory results, including contacting patients with results as directed.
- Chart all procedures performed, ensuring accurate documentation and proper billing codes.
- Maintain equipment controls and participate in quality assurance activities, such as charting for lab tests and ensuring compliance with protocols.
- Perform other routine office duties as assigned to maintain patient care standards.

Qualifications & Requirements
- RN or BSN degree from an accredited nursing program required.
- Current, active RN license.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Minimum of three years' experience in an ambulatory or outpatient clinical setting preferred.
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) required; familiarity with Athena is a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking abilities with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to provide compassionate, patient-centered care and work effectively within a diverse team.
