Receiving Inspector - Summary
- Responsible for inspecting incoming aerospace hardware and materials to verify compliance with purchase orders, engineering drawings, and customer requirements.
- Operates under AS9100 quality system standards and supports documentation accuracy and traceability.
- Participates in structured training to develop skills in measurement techniques and blueprint interpretation.
- Provides support for product verification, documentation review, and quality accuracy initiatives.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Verify incoming materials against purchase orders to ensure correct items and quantities are received.
- Review supplier documentation, including Certificates of Conformance (COCs), material certifications, and test reports, for completeness and accuracy.
- Perform dimensional and visual inspections using calibrated tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, thread/ring gauges, and optical comparators (as trained).
- Compare inspection results to engineering drawings and defined specifications, escalating uncertain conditions to senior quality personnel when necessary.
- Identify and segregate nonconforming material, labeling and documenting it according to established procedures.
- Accurately record inspection results in inspection reports, ERP systems, or designated tracking logs to support traceability and documentation compliance.
- Scan and file certifications and quality records into company systems for easy retrieval and audit readiness.
- Maintain a clean, organized inspection area and adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Actively participate in ongoing training related to inspection methods, aerospace quality standards, and GD&T fundamentals.
- Support the continuous improvement of quality and safety processes within the department.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of inspection experience using micrometers and calipers, preferably in an aerospace or fastener environment.
- Strong skills in blueprint reading and basic interpretation of engineering drawings.
- Experience with quality documentation control and ERP systems such as SAP is highly preferred.
- Ability to use email, word processing, and filter Excel reports efficiently.
- Demonstrated reliability, attention to detail, and commitment to quality standards.
- Willingness to learn and develop measurement techniques and GD&T understanding through structured training.
