Quality Inspector (CQT) - SummaryAs a Quality Inspector (CQT), you will be responsible for conducting thorough inspections of materials, components, and finished goods throughout the manufacturing process. You will utilize a range of precision measurement tools and adhere to strict company standards and regulatory requirements. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, technical competence, and the ability to work collaboratively with various teams to support continuous improvement initiatives. The Quality Inspector (CQT) position is integral in documenting findings, reporting defects, and ensuring that only quality-approved products proceed to the next phase of production.
Duties & Responsibilities- Perform in-process and final inspections of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished products against blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
- Utilize precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, thread gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM) to verify product dimensions and tolerances.
- Identify, segregate, and document non-conforming materials; generate non-conformance reports (NCRs) and label defective items to prevent their use in production.
- Conduct process audits of assembly lines and manufacturing areas to confirm adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality plans.
- Log inspection results, test data, and pass/fail rates accurately into the company’s Quality Management System (QMS) or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software.
- Support root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) initiatives in collaboration with quality engineers and production teams.
- Ensure all inspection tools and gauges are properly calibrated and maintained before use, supporting a culture of accuracy and reliability.

- High school diploma or equivalent is required; a technical degree or certification such as ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQT) is highly desirable.
- One to three years of experience in a manufacturing quality control or assembly environment preferred.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) symbols.
- Experience using standard handheld precision measuring tools and familiarity with CMM machines.
- Basic computer skills, including data entry in Excel, ERP, or QMS platforms.
- Strong attention to detail, objective judgment, and clear written/verbal communication skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs occasionally, and maintain excellent visual acuity (with or without corrective lenses).
- Detail-oriented professional with a passion for quality and continuous improvement.
- Effective communicator who can clearly explain findings and collaborate across departments.
- Technically skilled in inspection methods and measurement tools, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
