Quality Inspector - Summary
The Quality Inspector plays an essential role in ensuring that component-level and assembly products meet strict quality and specification requirements. This position is responsible for conducting detailed visual and mechanical inspections, reviewing documentation, and verifying compliance with industry standards and customer requirements. As a Quality Inspector, you will be expected to uphold company procedures, execute first article inspections to AS9102 standards, and contribute to ongoing process improvements. Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform and document visual and mechanical inspections of product components and assemblies, ensuring compliance with drawings and specifications.
- Verify supplier approval status and certifications against specification requirements for completeness and accuracy.
- Assess finished hardware for compliance with drawing requirements, including shop practices related to unfinished hardware through visual verification of machined areas.
- Understand and adhere to internal quality procedures and standards.
- Utilize basic inspection tools such as micrometers, bore gages, and height gages to assess products accurately.
- Use quality management software and ERP systems to record inspection results and job completion data.
- Meet assigned job deadlines while preserving the integrity and thoroughness of inspections.
- Identify and document opportunities for lean process improvement.
- Execute formal first article inspection reports following AS9102 standards.
- Review Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP) for accuracy and completeness.
- Obtain customer source delegation when required.
- Perform simple mathematical calculations relevant to inspection activities.

Qualifications & Requirements
- High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
- At least one year of relevant experience or equivalent training in a quality inspection or related field.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, safety rules, operation manuals, and procedure documents.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills, enabling effective reporting and correspondence.
- Ability to perform and understand basic mathematical calculations, including working with decimals, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Capable of solving practical problems and interpreting a variety of instructions in written, diagram, or verbal form.
- Familiarity with database systems, ERP/inventory software, and MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Typing proficiency and solid command of basic computer operations, including Windows and internet browsers.
- Mechanical inspection knowledge, including basic components, material, and thread finishes.
