The Quality Control Manager (QC Manager) plays an integral role in overseeing and enhancing the quality assurance and compliance functions in an aerospace repair and manufacturing environment. This full-time leadership position is responsible for implementing, maintaining, and continuously improving quality control standards, policies, and procedures to ensure all products and services meet both customer and regulatory requirements. The QC Manager develops and executes inspection methodologies, directs internal and external audits, and provides essential training for inspection and documentation best practices. Working closely with senior management, production teams, and regulatory authorities, the QC Manager ensures operational excellence and compliance, particularly within FAA Part 145 Repair Station guidelines. This role is critical for maintaining high standards of safety, reliability, and customer satisfaction in a dynamic aerospace manufacturing environment.
Quality Control Manager (QC Manager) - Summary
- Leads the Quality Control Department, managing inspection processes and ensuring regulatory compliance in aerospace repair and manufacturing settings.
- Establishes and upholds quality control methodologies, standards, and training programs to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Coordinates and prepares for FAA and customer audits, maintaining robust documentation and audit readiness at all times.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams and external partners to identify, address, and resolve quality-related issues.
- Supports recruiting and talent development for quality assurance and control roles.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of the Quality Control Department, including receiving and final inspections for both repair and manufacturing operations.
- Participate actively in Material Review Board (MRB) meetings to resolve non-conformances and ensure compliance with established standards.
- Manage and mentor QC supervisors, lead inspectors, and inspectors, optimizing workforce allocation and performance in line with FAA 145 Repair Station requirements.
- Attend daily production meetings, providing updates and support on quality assurance and control matters.
- Develop and implement sampling plans, quality standards, and process control instructions to reduce variation and improve product consistency.
- Lead cross-functional teams, including customer and supplier representatives, to resolve issues and strengthen customer relationships.
- Develop and deliver training programs on inspection techniques, documentation requirements, and quality control best practices.
- Evaluate candidates for QA/QC positions and support recruitment efforts as needed.
- Review and approve vendor and supplier surveys to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.
- Maintain an effective quality training program tailored to the needs of the organization.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in engineering, quality, or technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of seven years’ QC experience in an FAA Part 145 Repair Station with manufacturing capabilities.
- Prior management or supervisory experience required.
- Demonstrated experience successfully completing FAA, CASE, ISO 9001, or customer audits.
- Active Airframe & Power Plant (A&P) license or Airframe license required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and general office skills.
- Knowledge of FARs, ISO 9001, JIT, project management, and estimating methods.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as business needs require.
