Psychiatrist (Addiction & Trauma) MD - Summary

Duties & Responsibilities
- Serve as the clinical lead for psychiatric care within the treatment program, setting standards for best practices in addiction and trauma psychiatry
- Conduct comprehensive initial psychiatric evaluations and bio-psycho-social assessments for new patients, averaging two admissions daily, with each intake lasting up to two hours
- Provide ongoing medication management and follow-up care, seeing five to six patients per day for sessions ranging from 5-30 minutes each
- Maintain up-to-date, accurate documentation, including voice recordings and insurance documentation, as well as FMLA and external consult paperwork
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized treatment plans and ensure holistic, integrated patient care
- Be available for on-call coverage to support psychiatric crises as needed
- Participate in insurance evaluations, consultations, and ongoing professional development through specialized training opportunities

Qualifications & Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution
- Board certification in Psychiatry (ABPN)
- Demonstrated experience or specialized training in addiction medicine and trauma-informed care
- Eligible for or holding an active, unrestricted medical license
- Commitment to ethical, patient-centered care and continuous quality improvement
- Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills
- Ability to participate in on-call coverage as needed
