Working as a Psychiatric RN allows you to utilize advanced technologies such as Omnicell for medication management and the EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) system for clinical documentation. Your expertise will be essential in supporting medication administration protocols, maintaining accurate records, and implementing crisis intervention techniques as needed. You will also play a pivotal part in discharge planning, ensuring that each patient’s transition from hospital to home or another care setting is safe, effective, and seamless.

Psychiatric RN - Summary
- Provide primary nursing care to patients experiencing psychiatric or behavioral health issues
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary behavioral health team

Duties & Responsibilities
- Participate in regular interdisciplinary team meetings with physicians, psychiatrists, and other healthcare professionals to discuss patient progress and treatment effectiveness
- Collaborate closely with social workers and care managers to coordinate safe and effective discharge plans
- Manage and dispense psychiatric medications using the Omnicell automated system, ensuring adherence to best practices and safety protocols
- Maintain accurate, real-time clinical documentation and progress notes within the EPIC EHR system
- Implement de-escalation techniques and crisis stabilization protocols as needed to maintain a safe and therapeutic environment
- Serve as a clinical resource and advocate for patients and their families, ensuring their needs are met throughout the care process

Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in a psychiatric or behavioral health setting
- Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)
- Proficiency in using EPIC EHR and Omnicell medication management systems
- IV certification is not required for this position
