Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) - Summary
- Provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment planning for patients in an outpatient setting
- Work as a locum tenens provider on a 6-month full-time contract
- Collaborate with family health and behavioral health teams to deliver integrated care

Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct psychiatric assessments and mental health evaluations for a diverse outpatient population
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical guidelines and patient needs
- Prescribe and manage appropriate psychiatric medications with careful monitoring and follow-up
- Provide psychotherapy and counseling interventions using evidence-based modalities
- Work collaboratively with physicians, social workers, therapists, and other healthcare team members to coordinate care
- Document all patient encounters, assessments, and interventions in the electronic health record system
- Educate patients and families regarding mental health conditions, treatment options, and ongoing wellness strategies
- Participate in clinical meetings, supervision, and professional development activities
- Maintain compliance with all regulatory, credentialing, and documentation standards

Qualifications & Requirements
- Active and unrestricted New Mexico nurse practitioner license
- Current board certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Experience in outpatient psychiatric or behavioral health settings preferred
- Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and therapeutic skills
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational abilities
