Property Manager – LIHTC
The Property Manager – LIHTC plays a crucial role in the successful operation and compliance of affordable housing communities. In this full-time position, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of property management within assigned communities, with a strong focus on maintaining regulatory standards, managing resident relations, and ensuring the smooth operation of daily community activities. Key Responsibilities
- Directly manage daily operations of assigned communities, ensuring compliance with Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) and other affordable housing programs.
- Conduct leasing operations, including eligibility screening, rent calculation, and facilitating lease agreements in accordance with program guidelines.
- Provide resident support by handling occupancy matters, processing transfer paperwork, and resolving complaints or concerns efficiently and respectfully.
- Coordinate ongoing property maintenance and repairs by working closely with maintenance teams, ensuring all repairs and inspections are completed in a timely manner.
- Oversee the annual re-certification process for residents, collaborating with compliance and management teams to ensure accuracy and adherence to requirements.
- Maintain comprehensive, organized, and compliant resident files, upholding Fair Housing Laws and other regulatory requirements at all times.
- Support the eviction process and handle resident relations as necessary, ensuring all actions are in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
- Participate in continual training and professional development to strengthen property management skills and stay updated on industry best practices.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Ability and commitment to obtain the Pennsylvania Real Estate License and IRS Section 42 certification within one year of employment.
- Minimum of one year of administrative experience, preferably within property management or a related field.
- Familiarity with HUD programs and Yardi property management software is considered an asset.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is highly desirable for effective resident communication.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating initiative and adaptability in a dynamic work environment.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with residents, peers, and supervisors.
- Capacity to handle the physical demands of the job, such as prolonged desk work and occasional light lifting.
