Project Engineer – Sustainability Summary
- Provide technical, engineering, and project coordination support for construction and sustainability initiatives.
- Assist project managers with documentation, scheduling, and communication across project teams and stakeholders.
- Promote sustainable practices in project planning, execution, and closeout.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Deliver technical and engineering assistance to project management and construction teams.
- Collaborate with contractors, architects, engineers, inspectors, consultants, and internal staff throughout the project lifecycle.
- Participate in and lead design or construction meetings as needed.
- Conduct field checks to ensure compliance with job specifications, plans, and relevant standards, including sustainability benchmarks.
- Interpret construction plans and shop drawings accurately.
- Draft written materials such as correspondence, reports, procedures, and project guidelines.
- Support the development and distribution of project status and photo reports.
- Review, estimate, and process construction change orders and field orders.
- Oversee contractor and consultant activities, including invoice approval and contract compliance.
- Assess project risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure successful and sustainable project delivery.
- Facilitate resolutions for construction and design-related issues.
- Coordinate with architects for timely responses to project requests and documentation.
- Generate and distribute meeting minutes for project meetings.
- Ensure contractors maintain accurate record drawings before facilitating progress payments.
- Maintain project files in both digital and physical formats for transparency and compliance.
- Review submittals for adherence to project plans and sustainability specifications.
- Draft and generate Proposed Board Actions (PBAs).
- Prepare scope of work documents and project status reports for consultant and contractor solicitations.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned to support project success.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum of seven years of professional experience in construction project engineering or a related field.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience in lieu of degree).
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
