Project Engineer (PE) Overview
The Project Engineer (PE) plays a pivotal role in supporting and executing commercial construction projects from inception to completion. As a Full-time team member based in Denver, CO, the Project Engineer (PE) is responsible for professionally representing the company’s interests, upholding quality and safety standards, and ensuring successful project delivery through effective collaboration and technical expertise.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a professional representative of the organization, supporting strategic initiatives and fostering long-term positive relationships with internal teams, business partners, and stakeholders.
- Implement and adhere to company policies, procedures, and lean culture principles to promote a productive and efficient work environment.
- Maintain strong working relationships with project owners, design teams, consultants, subcontractors, and project team members to facilitate project objectives.
- Actively participate in pre-planning efforts alongside Project Managers and Superintendents to ensure comprehensive project readiness.
- Collaborate closely with Superintendents to ensure compliance with environmental, stormwater, and safety programs, adhering to all company safety guidelines as this is a safety-sensitive role.
- Oversee essential project processes, including:
- Managing Requests for Information (RFIs), submittals, and mock-ups
- Coordinating the permitting process
- Handling third-party testing and design-team field reports
- Ensuring accurate document control and archival of project information
- Managing project closeout processes and schedule updates
- Supervising cast-in-place concrete operations
- Coordinating procurement of doors, frames, and hardware
- Executing pre-punch and punch list processes
- Facilitating the change management process
- Support the project team in:
- Preparation for Owner-Architect-Contractor (OAC) meetings
- Setting up project-specific Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) programs
- Managing startup and testing requirements per company protocols
- Contributing to pre-construction efforts and safety preplanning, including ILSM Plan, ICRA, and MOPs
- Assisting with third-party testing and design team field reports
- Overseeing pre-punch and punch list procedures
- Supporting the change management process
- Create and maintain a comprehensive material delivery schedule for timely project execution.
- Mentor and provide training to indirect reports, fostering the development of emerging talent within the project team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
- 1 to 5 years of experience in general commercial construction required.
- Proficiency in construction management software such as CMiC and Bluebeam.
- Strong skills in Microsoft products, including Navisworks, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Certifications
- OSHA 10 Certification is required.
- WELL AP Certification or LEED accreditation required.
