This role is integral to the successful execution of commercial construction projects, supporting the project management team from project conception through completion. The Project Engineer – Commercial Construction (PE) will be responsible for planning, scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring all technical aspects of assigned projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements. Key Responsibilities- Prepare, schedule, coordinate, and monitor all assigned engineering projects to ensure smooth workflow and adherence to project requirements.
- Monitor compliance with applicable codes, practices, quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) policies, performance standards, and detailed project specifications.
- Engage in daily communication with clients to interpret their needs and requirements, representing their interests effectively on project sites.
- Conduct overall quality control of work, including oversight of project budget, schedule, planning, and personnel performance, and provide regular reports on project status.
- Assign responsibilities to project team members and provide mentorship to foster professional growth and successful project outcomes.
- Collaborate and communicate efficiently with the project manager and all project participants, offering technical support and assistance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Review engineering deliverables and initiate corrective actions when necessary to maintain project integrity and client satisfaction.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or a closely related field is required.
- Proven experience as a Project Engineer – Commercial Construction (PE), with 3-4 years in a similar role and 2-4 years specifically in commercial construction.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Project for project management and documentation.
- Excellent knowledge of design and visualization software, such as AutoCAD; experience with BIM or Revit and LEED Accreditation is considered a plus.
- Familiarity with relevant building codes, regulations, industry best practices, and performance standards in commercial construction.
- Ability to manage multiple discipline projects, demonstrating strong project management and supervision skills.
- Well-developed decision-making and leadership abilities, along with a high level of organization and time management skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining effective teamwork and a positive attitude.
