The Project Commissioning Engineer plays a critical role in the successful startup and commissioning of renewable natural gas (RNG) plants, guiding projects from the Site Acceptance Test (SAT) phase through to full operational acceptance. As an essential technical leader, the Project Commissioning Engineer is responsible for managing all aspects of the plant start-up process, ensuring that operational and technical requirements are met efficiently and in accordance with industry standards. This role involves direct coordination with both internal teams and external stakeholders, facilitating a seamless transition from project completion to ongoing operations.

With a focus on RNG and related gas processing technologies, the Project Commissioning Engineer provides expertise in plant controls, including individual skid and Balance of Plant (BoP) systems. The position requires leadership in overseeing engineers and technicians, delivering coaching and direction to elevate team performance and ensure adherence to project timelines and budgets. The Project Commissioning Engineer is expected to demonstrate advanced problem-solving skills, rapidly addressing technical issues in real time to minimize downtime and maximize operational efficiency.

In this role, the Project Commissioning Engineer will employ strong project management skills to balance competing priorities, manage multiple workstreams, and coordinate the activities of customers, contractors, vendors, and internal project teams. The successful candidate will possess robust communication and organizational abilities, supporting collaborative efforts among diverse disciplines and contributing to the overall success of each project. Computer proficiency, especially in Microsoft Office and CAD software, supports the technical and documentation aspects of this role. Experience or certification in project management (such as PMP) is highly desirable.
