Production Planner - Summary

Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate Item Masters, Bills of Material (BOMs), and Routers/Travelers in the ERP system (Microsoft Dynamics 365).
- Utilize Microsoft Access database for managing and tracking changes, ensuring all approvals are obtained and documented.
- Review, convert, and schedule planned orders into production orders based on material availability, capacity, and customer requirements.
- Generate and communicate work center schedules, providing updates and revisions as needed.
- Monitor and adjust production timelines to meet operational goals and delivery commitments.
- Develop and maintain master data parameters, such as lot sizes, lead times, scrap rates, and safety stock levels.
- Manage production order splits to optimize workflow and improve efficiency.
- Oversee product purge processes, identifying and mitigating risks as necessary.
- Prioritize orders at work centers to maintain production flow and minimize delays.
- Identify and resolve risks to the production schedule and overall plan.
- Investigate root causes of material shortages and production delays, implementing corrective and preventive actions.
- Expedite resolution of in-process rejections to reduce impacts on customer deliveries.
- Document standard operating procedures and work instructions.
- Participate actively in continuous improvement and safety initiatives.

Qualifications & Requirements
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
- One to two years of related experience and/or training in production planning or a similar manufacturing role.
- Proficiency in English, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to comprehend and interpret instructions, safety rules, operating procedures, and maintenance manuals.
- Mathematical aptitude, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, as well as compute rates, ratios, and percentages.
- Solid reasoning skills to solve problems and carry out instructions in written, verbal, or diagram form.
- Intermediate computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, Access, PowerPoint).
- Experience in ERP and inventory management systems, with a preference for Microsoft Dynamics 365.
- Typing and 10-Key proficiency.
- Familiarity with blueprint reading and interpreting raw material specifications.
