As a Production Operator, you are responsible for the safe handling, inspection, labeling, and transportation of glass materials throughout the warehouse and production areas. The position typically involves working Monday through Friday, with standard shifts running from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, and the potential for overtime as needed based on business demands. As a Production Operator, your daily responsibilities will include moving glass from various locations such as tables, furnaces, rolling racks, delivery trucks, or wood crates. You will be expected to transport materials safely across the warehouse, ensuring that all products are correctly labeled and meet quality standards. This hands-on role involves both manual and equipment-assisted tasks, requiring a level of comfort and proficiency with operating warehouse machinery. Attention to safety protocols is paramount, as is the ability to perform repetitive tasks over extended periods without sacrificing quality or safety.
The Production Operator role is ideal for individuals who can work independently or as part of a team. The ability to read, understand, and communicate paperwork and labels is crucial, as is a basic proficiency in mathematical measurements and the use of a tape measure. Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 75 lbs unassisted and up to 150 lbs in a two-person lift, as well as the ability to stand for long periods and work in a non-climate-controlled environment. Previous experience in a production or warehouse setting, particularly in the glass industry, is preferred but not mandatory—training will be provided to qualified candidates.
