The Production Operator plays a key role within the high-capacity commercial laundry plant team, supporting the effective and efficient processing of linen products. This position directly impacts the ability of Core Linen Services to meet customer demands while upholding the highest standards for quality and safety. The Production Operator is responsible for a variety of tasks that ensure the smooth operation of production lines, including but not limited to, operating industrial washers, dryers, and irons, as well as sorting, folding, packing, sewing, and distributing linen items. Production Operator - SummaryThe Production Operator is a frontline team member who performs a range of tasks that support the daily production needs of the commercial laundry facility. This position is integral to maintaining an uninterrupted workflow that meets or exceeds established production standards. Production Operators ensure that all processes, from sorting soiled linens to the final packing and distribution of clean items, are performed efficiently and according to company protocols.
Duties & Responsibilities- Maintain a consistent flow of linen through the production process, including feeding items into industrial washers, dryers, and ironers.
- Sort soiled linens and ensure proper placement for washing according to established guidelines.
- Load linen into machine pockets or conveyors, monitoring load sizes to prevent overfilling and ensure optimal cleaning and drying results.
- Operate commercial laundry equipment such as washers, dryers, tunnel washers, and irons, following all safety protocols.
- Monitor equipment for proper functioning and promptly notify supervisors of technical issues or frequent malfunctions that may impact production standards.
- Follow detailed instructions and adhere to safety regulations at all times to ensure a safe and compliant work environment.
- Assist with additional production activities such as folding, commercial ironing, packing, sewing, mending, and preparing linens for distribution to clients.
- Meet or exceed production standards as determined by the company for hourly output and quality benchmarks.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisors to support overall plant operations and team objectives.
