Product Owner (Agile, Scrum, Healthcare IT) - Summary
The Product Owner (Agile, Scrum, Healthcare IT) is responsible for defining, prioritizing, and maintaining the product backlog, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and developers. The individual in this role will own the product roadmap, set the direction for digital healthcare solutions, and ensure successful delivery of features that enhance user experience, digital access, and workflow efficiency. This role requires a blend of business acumen, agile expertise, and healthcare IT knowledge to deliver impactful solutions in a rapidly evolving industry.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and the Scrum development team to translate business objectives into actionable user stories and project deliverables.
- Define and communicate the product vision, strategy, and roadmap to all relevant teams, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and customer needs.
- Prioritize, manage, and continually refine the product backlog, balancing business value, technical feasibility, and stakeholder input.
- Author and refine user stories, acceptance criteria, and detailed requirements for upcoming product releases.
- Participate in all Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives, and daily stand-ups, providing clarity and direction to the Scrum team.
- Regularly engage with stakeholders across healthcare and laboratory domains to gather feedback, address requirements, and communicate product changes.
- Approve completed work from the development team, ensuring deliverables meet quality standards and acceptance criteria.
- Facilitate ongoing communication among business leaders, technical teams, and end users to foster understanding and effective collaboration.
- Support the adoption of best practices in digital product development, agile methodology, and stakeholder management.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required, preferably in a related field such as Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or Healthcare Administration.
- Proven experience working as a Product Owner or similar role in digital product development, preferably within healthcare or laboratory settings.
- Demonstrated expertise in Agile and Scrum frameworks, including experience participating in or leading Agile teams.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate complex business needs into technical requirements.
- Experience with Digital Access & Enablement, as well as communications and digital product strategies.
- Familiarity with healthcare IT systems and APIs, especially EPIC API, is highly desirable.
- Ability to obtain a Scrum Product Owner certification within one year if not already certified.
