Procurement Specialist - Summary
The Procurement Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient acquisition of materials, supplies, and services vital to organizational operations. Responsible for securing goods at optimal pricing without compromising on quality, the Procurement Specialist also ensures that all purchases are delivered in a timely manner. This position requires a keen understanding of vendor management, negotiation, and compliance with industry regulations, particularly within manufacturing or repair settings. The Procurement Specialist must also support planning, scheduling, shipping, and receiving activities as needed, contributing to overall supply chain effectiveness. Duties & Responsibilities
- Identify and select appropriate vendors based on qualifications, price, quality, and availability in coordination with Quality Department procedures.
- Submit requests for new vendor approvals following established procedures.
- Negotiate with vendors to achieve the best pricing and delivery terms while upholding quality standards.
- Review purchase requisitions for completeness and accuracy, verifying signature authority and resolving discrepancies with relevant departments.
- Prepare, submit, distribute, and maintain records for quotation requests and purchase orders according to company procedures.
- Monitor and maintain schedules and status updates for quotes, purchases, and assigned jobs to ensure timely completion.
- Resolve issues related to delivery schedules, quality, quantity, or price by coordinating with vendors, accounting, and other departments as necessary.
- Support and perform additional materials management duties, including planning, scheduling, shipping, and receiving as required.

Qualifications & Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Six (6) to eight (8) or more years of purchasing experience within a manufacturing or repair environment, with a preference for those familiar with Aerospace/Aviation regulations.
- General computer and office software proficiency, including Microsoft Excel and Word, is essential.
- Knowledge of APICS principles, Statistical Process Control (SPC), and Just-in-Time (JIT) inventory practices is highly beneficial.
- Strong negotiating, mathematics, and written communication skills are critical to success in this role.
- Ability to read blueprints and prepare comprehensive written reports.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and comprehend technical documents written in English.
