Procurement Specialist - Summary
The Procurement Specialist (also referred to as CPSM, CSCP, NIGP-CPP, CPM) plays a critical role in ensuring the seamless acquisition of goods and services within a manufacturing setting. Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic sourcing initiatives to identify, evaluate, and select suppliers for raw materials, components, and services.
- Oversee the full procurement cycle, from requisition through to purchase order (PO) creation and delivery, leveraging ERP systems such as SAP.
- Lead contract negotiations with vendors to secure optimal pricing, terms, and service level agreements (SLAs), ensuring risk mitigation and cost savings.
- Conduct supplier performance reviews, manage relationships, and implement corrective actions as needed to uphold quality and compliance standards.
- Perform detailed cost analysis and stay informed on market trends to identify cost reduction and process improvement opportunities.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, production, and quality assurance teams to align procurement activities with operational schedules and requirements.
- Establish and maintain effective inventory control strategies to optimize stock levels and reduce carrying costs.
- Ensure all procurement actions comply with internal policies, industry regulations, and legal standards.
- Resolve discrepancies relating to deliveries, invoices, and quality issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Drive continuous improvements in procurement processes, including the adoption of digital tools and sustainable sourcing practices.
- Prepare and present procurement reports, supplier evaluations, and cost saving initiatives to the leadership team.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management or a related field.
- 2-5 years of progressive experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management within a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated expertise with ERP systems such as SAP for procurement operations.
- Strong background in contract negotiation, supplier relationship management, and strategic sourcing.
- Advanced analytical skills for cost analysis and market research.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
- Thorough understanding of manufacturing supply chain principles.

Other Relevant Information
