Procurement Specialist - Summary
- Responsible for sourcing and procuring goods and services to support technical marine projects and operations.
- Acts as a liaison between internal teams, suppliers, and logistics personnel to ensure uninterrupted workflow and compliance.
- Manages a high volume of procurement orders, focusing on timely, cost-effective, and compliant delivery.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Review and clarify requisitions for goods and services with internal requestors to ensure accurate specifications.
- Source and negotiate pricing, terms, and alternatives with suppliers to meet operational needs efficiently.
- Evaluate supplier proposals and recommend purchases based on price, quality, availability, and delivery schedules.
- Partner with shipboard and shoreside personnel, as well as suppliers and logistics teams, to support ongoing operations.
- Monitor and assess supplier performance regarding service quality, compliance, and cost competitiveness; resolve performance issues as required.
- Process urgent orders in accordance with regulatory compliance requirements, securing necessary approvals and transportation documentation promptly.
- Manage contract orders to ensure adherence to agreed terms and conditions.
- Investigate and resolve delivery failures, discrepancies, and invoice disputes in a timely manner.
- Provide regular status updates to customers and stakeholders regarding open orders and procurement activities.
- Occasionally travel to ships, suppliers, or project sites to conduct inspections, audits, and oversee loadings.
- Ensure strict compliance with all company policies, procedures, and departmental objectives at all times.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Associate’s degree or higher in a relevant field.
- Minimum of 3 years of procurement experience, preferably in technical or marine environments.
- Strong numerical skills, including the ability to work with discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages.
- Excellent communication skills, with confidence in presenting information and responding to questions from managers, clients, and stakeholders.
- Analytical ability to read, analyze, and interpret business publications, technical documents, and governmental regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
