You will interface with both suppliers and internal customers, maintain supplier records, and actively contribute to the continuous improvement of procurement processes. The role also involves managing supplier relationships, negotiating pricing, resolving discrepancies, and supporting efforts to identify alternative materials or sources when needed.
Our ideal candidate brings a minimum of one year of experience in a similar buyer or procurement role within a manufacturing setting. Familiarity with technical materials (such as metals and precision mechanical components), manufacturing documentation, and ERP systems like Syteline is highly valued. A background in database management and strong spreadsheet skills are essential for success in this role. Candidates who hold certifications such as CPP (Certified Purchasing Professional) or CGPP (Certified Green Purchasing Professional) will be given special consideration.
As a Procurement Buyer, you will be expected to work with limited supervision and adhere to standardized procurement practices. Your ability to effectively supervise or coordinate individuals involved in the storage, transportation, and processing of procured items will be instrumental in maintaining an efficient and reliable supply chain. You will also be responsible for expediting orders when necessary, managing return materials authorizations (RMAs), participating in material review boards (MRB), and ensuring that all transactions are conducted ethically and in compliance with company policies.
