The Process Piping Estimator plays a central role in supporting the success of process piping and mechanical projects. Duties & Responsibilities
- Contact pre-construction departments of targeted general contractors to identify and evaluate project opportunities.
- Assess project opportunities for alignment with company business models and profitability goals.
- Review all project plans, piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), specifications, and contracts to identify project impacts and requirements.
- Operate and master computer-based takeoff and estimating systems to generate reproducible and detailed cost estimates.
- Coordinate drawings, scopes, and points of contact (POCs) with other trades for integrated project delivery.
- Prepare Requests for Information (RFIs) and solicit pricing from vendors and subcontractors.
- Compile recap documents, outline general conditions, create project schedules, and draft correspondence as needed.
- Generate job reports and participate in bid reviews with the estimating manager to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Contribute to project sales efforts by developing scopes of supply, preparing presentations, engaging with clients, and supporting negotiations.
- Participate in project kickoff meetings, outlining the scope of work, work plans, budgets, and any key project constraints.
- Assist with tracking labor productivity and participate in daily staff meetings to monitor project progress and identify any scope deviations.
- Collaborate with project teams to develop alternate plans when actual performance differs from budgeted expectations.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience in piping, equipment, or pipe fabrication.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Preferred: Field or craft experience in process piping or mechanical installations.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in construction management or mechanical engineering.
