Printer Technician Job OverviewWe are seeking a skilled Printer Technician to join our IT Solutions and Printer Repair team in Shreveport, LA. This is a full-time opportunity for individuals passionate about technology, troubleshooting, and supporting a range of printer hardware. As a Printer Technician, you will play an integral role in maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing various types of printers and related equipment. This position offers a dynamic and collaborative environment, where your expertise will directly contribute to the efficiency and reliability of our client's printing operations.
Key Responsibilities- Perform component-level troubleshooting and repair of circuit card assemblies (CCA), ensuring optimal function and reliability.
- Determine the appropriate amount of time to troubleshoot CCAs, balancing cost considerations with assembly line needs.
- Complete thorough documentation for Material Review Board (MRB) disposition, following established company protocols.
- Assist the Purchasing team in managing the disposition of rejected and repaired CCAs, supporting smooth workflow and inventory management.
- Conduct routine and semi-complex tests on production assemblies, adhering to documented procedures and quality standards.
- Plan, prioritize, and complete work assignments to meet the requirements of various internal customers, ensuring deadlines and service standards are achieved.
- Demonstrate a clear understanding and compliance with all established company policies, protocols, and procedures throughout all tasks.
- Set up and operate a variety of test and measurement equipment required for repair and diagnostic activities.
- Start with basic printer maintenance tasks, such as changing toner, and progress toward full printer support, with opportunities to develop into laptop support as proficiency increases.
- Install, diagnose, maintain, and repair laser, inkjet, thermal, and impact printers from multiple original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience with screen printing machines and tools, including design, usage, repair, and ongoing maintenance.
- Minimum of 2 years of knowledge in raw materials, production processes, quality control, cost management, and techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture of printed goods.
- Familiarity with laser trimmers, including operation and troubleshooting.
- Experience programming belt furnaces for production processes.
- Proficiency with solder dipping processes.
- Experience working with wire bonders and component placement in manufacturing or repair settings.
