Primary Care Physician (MD/DO) – Full-Time, Onsite
Optigy is seeking a dedicated and mission-driven Primary Care Physician (MD/DO) to join our value-based care clinic serving senior patients. This position is offered as a locum tenens opportunity with a full-time schedule, focusing on high-quality care for a Medicare Advantage population. As a Primary Care Physician (MD/DO) at Optigy, you will care for a lower-volume patient panel, allowing for extended visit times and a personalized approach to healthcare. You will join a team that values innovation and evidence-based practice, utilizing a proprietary electronic medical records (EMR) system and enjoying the support of experienced leadership. The clinical model is designed to proactively address patient needs, minimize emergency room visits, and reduce hospital admissions through preventive care and chronic disease management.
Optigy covers all travel, housing, and malpractice insurance for this position, ensuring a smooth and focused work experience. The initial assignment is for a minimum of three months, with the potential to transition into a longer-term or permanent role for candidates who excel in this environment. Physicians with experience in Internal Medicine, Geriatrics, or value-based care are highly encouraged to apply. Primary Care Physician (MD/DO) – Summary
- Provide comprehensive primary care services to a Medicare Advantage senior patient panel.
- Work in a value-based care clinic utilizing a proprietary EMR system.
- Focus on preventive care, chronic disease management, and reducing unnecessary hospital utilization.
- Onsite, full-time locum tenens assignment with all travel, housing, and malpractice covered.
- Located in McAllen and Edinburg, TX – areas offering a vibrant community atmosphere for work and living.
Duties & Responsibilities
- See approximately 12–18 patients per day, allowing for longer, more impactful visits.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Manage acute and chronic conditions for a senior population, emphasizing prevention and education.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams and supportive leadership to optimize patient outcomes.
- Utilize a proprietary EMR system for documentation and care coordination.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives aimed at reducing ER visits and hospital admissions.
- Maintain compliance with clinical protocols and healthcare regulations.
Salary & Benefits
- Competitive hourly compensation, equivalent to $320K+ annually.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree required.
- Board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine preferred.
- Active Texas medical license or willingness to obtain one.
- Experience in geriatrics, value-based care, or working with Medicare Advantage populations preferred.
