Primary Care Physician (MD/DO) Job Overview
We are actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate Primary Care Physician (MD/DO) to join a well-established Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in Northern California. Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive primary care services to a diverse patient panel in an outpatient setting.
- Conduct routine wellness examinations, diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses, and manage preventative care needs.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including other physicians and advanced practice providers (APPs), to ensure continuity of care.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to established clinical protocols and procedures.
- Educate patients and their families on health maintenance, disease prevention, and treatment plans.
- Work closely with support staff to optimize patient flow and enhance the patient experience.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and adhere to ethical standards and legal regulations relevant to medical practice.
- No on-call responsibilities are required for this position, supporting a balanced work-life schedule.
Qualifications
- Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
- Completion of an accredited residency program in primary care (such as Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Pediatrics).
- Board certification or eligibility in Primary Care (Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or related field) is required.
- Current and unrestricted medical license, or eligibility for licensure, to practice as a physician in the state of California.
- Commitment to serving a diverse patient population and promoting access to high-quality healthcare.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Experience working in an FQHC or community health setting is advantageous but not required.
Practice Details
- 100% outpatient practice with no hospital or inpatient call obligations.
- Practice alongside a team of four physicians and five advanced practice providers (APPs).
- Patient panel typically ranges from 18 to 20 patients per day.
- Full-time schedule is typically four days per week (40 hours), with flexibility for candidates seeking at least 30 hours per week.
- Supportive administrative and clinical infrastructure to facilitate high-quality care delivery.

- Practice site is an approved National Health Service Corps (NHSC) location, eligible for NHSC Loan Repayment Program offering potential loan forgiveness for qualified candidates.
