Primary Care Physician (MD/DO) Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Primary Care Physician (MD/DO) for a full-time opportunity in Metairie, LA. Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive primary care services to a patient panel composed primarily of senior adults, many of whom present with multiple chronic conditions.
- Manage a patient panel with a maximum of 450 patients, allowing for more individualized and attentive care.
- See an average of 18 patients per day in a 100% outpatient setting, facilitating strong patient-provider relationships.
- Work alongside a dedicated care team that includes a medical assistant, scheduler, and referral specialist to ensure seamless, coordinated care for patients.
- Utilize value-based care principles to improve patient outcomes and health quality measures.
- Participate in administrative duties, with time included in your schedule to manage documentation and care coordination.
- Collaborate with in-house consulting specialists such as cardiologists and podiatrists, as well as holistic health professionals offering acupuncture, Tai Chi, yoga, and nutrition services.
- Engage in regular communication with patients and their families, providing education and guidance for chronic disease management.
- Support the organization's mission to honor seniors with accessible and high-quality care.
Qualifications
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
- Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Family Medicine (FM), Internal Medicine (IM), or Geriatric Medicine required.
- Commitment to value-based care and improving the health outcomes of the senior population.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to foster trusting relationships with patients and colleagues.
- Willingness to work in a collaborative, team-based care environment.
- Open to candidates who require visa sponsorship.
Work Schedule
- Full-time position, Monday through Friday.
- Clinic hours are 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with the last patient scheduled at 4:15 PM.
- No nights or weekends required, supporting a strong work/life balance.
