Primary Care Physician (MD/DO) About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Primary Care Physician (MD/DO) to join our mission-driven healthcare organization in New Orleans, LA. This is a full-time opportunity designed for a board-certified or board-eligible medical doctor in Family Medicine (FM), Internal Medicine (IM), or Geriatric Medicine. Our organization is physician-led and focused on providing comprehensive, value-based care to seniors, particularly those with multiple chronic conditions. Our mission is to honor and serve seniors with affordable, high-quality care that leads to improved health outcomes. As a Primary Care Physician (MD/DO) in New Orleans, LA, you will play a vital role in transforming the healthcare experience for a vulnerable population.
Key Responsibilities
- Delivering primary care services to a senior patient panel, with a maximum of 450 patients.
- Managing a daily schedule of approximately 18 patients in a 100% outpatient clinic setting.
- Providing patient-centered, value-based care, primarily to seniors with 3-5 chronic diseases.
- Collaborating with a dedicated care team, including a Medical Assistant, Scheduler, and Referral Specialist.
- Participating in a Monday through Friday work schedule, with clinic hours from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM (last patient scheduled at 4:15 PM).
- Utilizing scheduled administrative time within regular hours to ensure comprehensive care and documentation.
- Engaging with in-house consulting specialists, such as Cardiology and Podiatry, to coordinate care as needed.
- Supporting holistic health initiatives, including services like acupuncture, Tai Chi, yoga, and nutrition counseling.
- Ensuring access to care through provided door-to-door transportation services for patients.
Qualifications
- Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
- Completion of residency training in Internal Medicine (IM) or Family Medicine (FM); Geriatric Medicine experience or training is a plus.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Geriatric Medicine.
