Primary Care Physician (MD/DO) Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and mission-driven Primary Care Physician (MD/DO) to join our esteemed outpatient practice in Newport News, VA. Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive primary care to a small panel of adult and senior patients, focusing on preventative medicine, chronic disease management, and wellness.
- Manage a patient panel with a maximum of 450 individuals, allowing for meaningful patient relationships and personalized care.
- See approximately 18 patients per day in a 100% outpatient clinic setting.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including a dedicated Medical Assistant, Scheduler, and Referral Specialist to optimize patient care.
- Utilize value-based care principles to drive improved health outcomes for a senior population, many of whom have 3-5 chronic conditions.
- Participate in administrative activities, with time allocated within the schedule for these responsibilities.
- Maintain regular clinic hours, Monday through Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with no required nights or weekends, supporting work-life balance.
- Coordinate care with in-house consulting specialists, including Cardiology, Podiatry, and others, as well as holistic health services such as acupuncture, Tai Chi, yoga, and nutrition.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine (FM), Internal Medicine (IM), or Geriatric Medicine.
- Commitment to providing patient-centered, value-based care, with a special focus on senior populations.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and clinical skills.
- Eligibility to work in the United States; open to visa candidates.
