Primary Care Physician (MD/DO) Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Primary Care Physician (MD/DO) for a full-time opportunity in Richmond, VA. As part of a physician-led, mission-driven healthcare organization, you will play a pivotal role in providing high-quality care to the senior population. This position offers the chance to work with a patient-centered team focused on value-based care, ensuring that every patient receives personalized and holistic medical attention. Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive primary care to a panel of up to 450 patients, focusing on seniors, many of whom manage 3-5 chronic conditions.
- Maintain a manageable daily patient schedule, averaging 18 patients per day, to ensure thorough and attentive care.
- Practice exclusively in an outpatient clinical setting with no nights or weekends required, supporting work-life balance.
- Work closely with a dedicated care team, including a medical assistant, scheduler, and referral specialist, to coordinate patient care and administrative needs.
- Utilize value-based care principles to improve health outcomes and patient satisfaction.
- Participate in partnership opportunities typically available within 12-18 months, with a majority of physicians achieving partner status within the first year.
- Leverage in-house consulting specialists, such as cardiology and podiatry, as well as holistic health services including acupuncture, Tai Chi, yoga, and nutrition counseling.
- Utilize door-to-door transportation services provided for patients to increase access to care.
- Dedicate time within your schedule for administrative responsibilities to ensure comprehensive patient management.
Qualifications
- Completion of a residency program in Internal Medicine (IM) or Family Medicine (FM).
- Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Geriatric Medicine.
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
- Commitment to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care to a senior patient population.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to work effectively within an interdisciplinary clinical team.
